M rs. Yolanda Fay Turner Harper was born August 24, 1962 to the late James Edward Turner and Ethel Mae Williams Turner in New Orleans, Louisiana. Yolanda made Houston, Texas her home for the past 18 years.

On Saturday April 1, 2023 at approximately 2:45 P.M., Yolanda was called home to be with The Lord. She went surrounded by her loving husband and 3 children. Yolanda was 60 years old.

On May 4, 2021, Yolanda entered into holy matrimony with Charles E. Harper Sr. Prior to marriage; they were blessed with 30 wonderful years together. All who knew the couple saw them as inseparable. They spent countless hours walking together, exploring Houston, and just sitting enjoying each other's conversation.

Yolanda Fay Turner will be remembered as a kind and fun-loving mother who bestowed generosity on all who crossed her path. As a wife and homemaker, she spent many hours cooking hearty and wholesome dishes for her family. She loved celebrating the holidays with food and festivities.

She was a hands-on mother who was always present to provide love, guidance, support and structure to her 3 children. She enjoyed  laughing and joking with her children as they shared a strong bond and sense of humor. Mrs. Yolanda always found joy and lightheartedness in every situation. Yolanda raised her daughters to be resilient loving women who care for each other and others. Her   loving son was her pride and joy. Yolanda felt truly blessed to            experience every day with her family.

All who knew Yolanda would say that she was a guiding light, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and a hand to hold. She never turned away anyone in need. Her legacy of beauty, strength, joy, determination, kindness, and love inspired countless people around her.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; three sisters, Wanda Turner, Sandra Turner and Peggy Ubani and her brothers, Patrick Turner, Mark Turner, Timothy Turner and Michael Turner.

She leaves to celebrate her life, a loving and devoted husband, Charles E. Harper; two daughters, LaWanda and CaSandra Turner; a son, Jason Turner; brothers, James Turner, Alonzo Turner, Frederic Turner and Joseph Turner and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

There will be a funeral service from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
