Obituary

Thelma F. Cripps, age 89, was born November 1, 1934 and passed away May 7, 2024.

Thelma passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning with her children standing at her bedside, singing the hymns she loved so much. She was born in Colfax, Louisiana to Alvin Chambers Milligan and Mabel Calhoun. She married the love of her life, Isaac E. Cripps, at the age of 18. She and Isaac raised six children together, working religiously to see that they were provided for and raised with a love for the Lord. Near the age of 45, Isaac excepted his calling to the ministry, and Thelma was a great source of encouragement and support with her unceasing intercessory prayer, until his passing in 2001.
Though it devastated her to lose the love of her life, Isaac's passing did not discourage her and her love for Christ,  nor her passion for teaching and prayer.
Her children will all agree that their mother's prayers have sustained  them in life. Still, many others will confess that it was Thelma's witness that led them to Christ.
Thelma was proceeded in death by her parents, A. C. Milligan and Mabel Price; her husband of 47 years, Isaac E. Cripps; her sister, Deanna Turnage and grandson, J.R. Cripps.
She is survived by her four sons, Jesse, A. Cripps Sr., Kenneth (Randy) Cripps and wife, Lois Elizabeth, both of Royse City, Texas, Gary Cripps and wife, Terri of Redwood City, California and Bruce Cripps and wife, Sureena of Kerrville, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Willette and husband, Jacque, whom she lived with for the last 20 years, of Conroe, Texas and Diane Doyle and husband, Roger of Harriman, Tennessee; two brothers, Ira Milligan and Milligan and one sister, Barbara Matthews; fifteen grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She would be disappointed if we did not mention that she is also survived by her beloved church family of Living Way Church in Conroe, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a Cash memorial sent to the Living Way Church building fund, 2200 Longmire Rd., Conroe, Texas.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 with a service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Livingway Church, 2200 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas 77304. Interment will be held Friday, May 17 at Forest Law Memorial Park, 4000 Memorial Hwy., Ball, Louisiana 71405.

Her care has been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
