Paul
Perez
Dec 13, 1949 — Mar 5, 2024
Paul J. Perez, 74, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2024,
after lengthy health complications.
Paul was born on December 13, 1949, to Pablo G. Perez and Margarita
Hernandez Perez in Seguin, Texas. Paul left high school to join the
Army where he continued his education and received his diploma.
Paul was above all a good man. He loved his wife, his family, his
country, and he served all to the best of his ability.
Paul held numerous jobs until he landed a job at the Victoria County
Sheriff's Office where he was a deputy for many years.
After this, he joined the Harris County Sheriff's Office in 1984 where
he served for 23 years.
During this time is when he met his beautiful spouse Karen, and after
a long, love-story romance, they were married on February 14, 2002.
Paul and Karen together have a blended family of 4 children:
Benjamin Jon Perez of Houston, TX, Erica Jynel Gutierrez of Houston,
TX, Steven Michael Amor and wife Elisha of Hockley, TX, and David
Justin Amor and wife Robin of Kerrville, TX.
In 2006, Paul retired from the Harris County Sheriff's Office and spent
his time traveling with his wife. Paul was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys
fan and enjoyed the stress of watching the Astros play in the World
Series. He had a love for cooking menudo, fideo, enchiladas and rice,
world famous beans and cornbread. This is just to mention a few of
his favorite meals. He was a true host and loved catering and
attending to his guests. No one would leave hungry.
He was a great family man who enjoyed spending time with his 7
grandchildren: Izabel, Sophia, Django, London, Adison, Haley and
Zane. He also enjoyed his faithful, four-legged friends, Macho, Zoe,
and Taz. Pepper was one of Paul's most favorite and dearest
companions and Paul requested that Pepper be laid to rest alongside
him.
Paul was predeceased by both parents; brother, Ricky and sister, Guadalupe.
He is survived by his sister, Gloria Garcia; brother, Esavel (Mitch) and sister, Olga Puente.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and a service to begin at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
