Born November 7, 1955, Martha "Marti" Salaz was the second oldest of five born to Margaret H. Salinas and Julius M. Salinas.  Marti was born in San Antonio, Texas. She attended San Antonio public schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1974.

Marti had various jobs as a youth from working at the San Antonio Zoo, to working at a bank, but eventually blossomed into her career as a medical billing and reimbursement specialist. She also had many hobbies; which included partaking in chili cook-offs, collecting trinkets from QVC, spending time with grandchildren, hosting family bar-b-ques, watching the Texans on Sundays, rooting the Astros on as they won the world series. She loved holidays but most of all she loved to dress up as a witch every Halloween.

Marti is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret H. Salinas and Julius M. Salinas; her spouse, Don Ortel and great niece.

Marti is survived by her sons, Michael Steven Salaz and Richard Anthony Salaz; her grandchildren, Michael (Mikey), Diamond, Gianna, and Kali; her siblings and in-laws, Robert (Bob) and Carrie Salinas, Mike and Pam Salinas, David Salinas and Arthur (Art) and Cheryl Salinas; her niece/Goddaughter, Sarah Salinas, a host of additional nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Marti was a loving mom, sister, aunt and friend. She cared deeply for everyone she knew. We cherish all our beautiful memories of you. Your family and friends will miss you dearly and we pray that you watch over us until we meet again.
