Jessica Kathleen
Taylor Richardson
Apr 13, 1994 — Feb 19, 2023
Jessica Kathleen Taylor Richardson, 28 years old, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 due to natural causes.
Although her death is difficult to understand, Jessica was very happy in her personal life and was continuing a successful career at Deloitte Tax LLP. She had recently moved to Downtown Houston in December and was proud to be a new puppy mom to Olive, a Golden Retriever. Jessica was loved by everyone who knew her, and her absence will be felt every day.
She was blessed by having a large family as they were involved in foster care and adoption. She was a wonderful big sister who loved and helped raise all of her siblings both biological and adopted.
Jessica was homeschooled in her early years. She participated in Taekwondo for several years and won a silver medal in the Southern California Junior Olympics. Jessica attended junior high school in Colorado where she participated in cheer, volleyball, and softball. She also learned to drive at the age of 14 in the Rocky Mountains and enjoyed off-roading Jeeps. She attended The Woodlands High School in Texas where she enjoyed her experience in football filming. She loved the water and worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA. She also enjoyed reading, drawing, running, and building with Lego.
Jessica graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University, where she worked as a resident's advisor to help pay her way through college. After college, she worked at Vineyard Vines as an assistant manager where she met some of her best friends. She then worked as a tax auditor at Gary Lambert, specializing in Louisiana sales and use tax. A year and a half ago, she found her "work home" at Deloitte. One of the many things she loved about Deloitte was the vast opportunities to volunteer. She would have most likely stayed with Deloitte through her older years, as she was truly happy working with her team.
Jessica had an ongoing love for the Lord, and in much of her spare time she would study the Bible. She was also passionate about volunteer work. Based on her own personal experience, she knew the impact of having really good mentors and the importance of volunteering. Yes to Youth Montgomery County Youth Services played a big part in helping her see her potential. Once she aged out of the program, she volunteered and participated in fundraising activities as she loved to give back to the community that gave so much to her. She also volunteered at the Woodlands Marathon and the Ironman.
Jessica's surviving family members are her mother, Debbie; her siblings, Zac, Matt, Lisa, Ben, Joe, Josh, David and Tim. She is also survived by her father, Patrick, and his wife, Shirley and her siblings, Savannah and Noah; her great-grandmother, Birdie and her grandmother, Deb.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Dick and her nana, Jan. She was blessed by her mentors, Connie and Brad with wise counsel.
Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either of the two scholarships created in her memory. The first is the Yes to Youth counseling services for youth like her. They help youth reach their full potential and help their clients work through difficult situations with counseling services. This fund is currently being held at Woodforest bank. Contributions can be made at the bank to account number 1327394761. Or, donations may be made to the Woodlands Quarterback Club by following the link to the general donation for QBC (The Woodlands Quarterback Club):

).In the "company" section, donors should write "In honor of Jessica Richardson." This scholarship will help graduating students attend college who played football or were in supporting roles on the football team like Jessica. She received scholarships from both organizations. We hope that her name and impact will be remembered through these two scholarships benefiting future high school graduating students.
Arrangments have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
