Helen Marie Bauer passed away on February 2, 2024, to be received by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Houston, Texas on January 8, 1927, to Max & Helen Eisele. She grew up in what is now Houston's East End. She was a resident of Houston for 97 years and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church since 1955.

After a brief career as an executive secretary at Shell Oil Houston office, Helen desired to become a wife, mother, and homemaker. She married Walter C. Bauer of Switzerland, on  November 13, 1948. They were married for almost 59 years.

Walter; Helen's parents; brother, Don and sister-in-law, Jollean all preceded her in death.

Helen and Walter's four children are, Don, Rollin, Anetta and Michale. Don and wife, Yvonne, with their daughter, Monique; Rollin is single; Anetta and husband, Robert de Kanter, with their children, Joan, Alex and wife, Melanie, Peter and wife, Maria, with their son, Logan, Nick and wife, Donna, with their sons, Oliver and Ivan; Michale with her son, Ian and his daughters Audrey and Natalie. Helen was especially happy to be a great-grandmother to Audrey, Natalie, Oliver, Ivan and Logan.

Helen resided the last few years at Holly Hall Retirement Community. She was a person who loved her family and home; having moved to Holly Hall Assisted Living, Helen appreciated all her health care staff. She also drew comfort and support from the loving friendships of her extended family and friends. The family is grateful for all those who loved and cared for her.

Helen was a generous and sincere person, who believed in living a natural life. May she be with her loved one's who preceded her in death, and may we as a family continue her loving legacy.

Services will be held on February 13th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 6725 Reed Rd., Houston, TX 77087.  Internment will be at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023.
