Obituary

Fredy Nolberto Piedrasanta was born August 17, 1966, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was the second son of Gilberto Piedrasanta, a local boxer, and Magdalena. Since his youth, Fredy always had a keen sense of how to create wealth. As a child, he would wake up early to help his mother squeeze oranges in the streets of Guatemala City to sell cups of orange juice to earn extra money for their family. A prodigy of business, Fredy was always imagining and creating ways to earn money. While others played and relaxed, he worked and saved throughout his entire life. This mindset would eventually lead him on his journey to the United States of America in pursuit of more opportunities that he never took for granted, but brilliantly utilized in becoming an entrepreneur and business owner at the tender age of Thirty.

In 1996 he opened his first business, a moving company he named Latin Movers, embracing his culture and background. He would build this business from scratch with his hardworking savings, self-sufficiency, and his impenetrable determination. Fredy was a true force of nature; nothing could stop or deter him from growing his dream enterprise. He possessed a strong endurance and skillful mindset, which enabled him to obtain a great reputation in his business, serving the Greater Houston Area for over Twenty years. His charismatic and joyful personality gained him many customers and clients by word-of-mouth recommendation. He was able to make many business associates who overtime turned into long lasting friendships and partnerships.

Fredy was also a man of generous spirit. He held high values, humility, and a sense of duty in serving others. In both good and bad times, he always made himself available and never declined a friend or client in need of his help or service. He was a devoted husband to his wife Deborah for 28 years and never left her side. He was an encouraging father who put foremost importance on his daughter's education. In his success, Fredy never forgot where he came from, and managed to take care of his entire family back in his native homeland of Guatemala where he bought his mother her own house. Despite all the odds and toil Fredy faced in his lifetime, caring for a spouse with an illness, running a first-time business, and taking on the role of a primary parent, he always maintained a positive and accepting attitude towards his responsibilities.

Fredy had an immense abundance of love in his heart and maintained a loyal and courageous spirit his entire life. He has been described by his clients, friends and family as irreplaceable, special, pure hearted, kind, considerate, honest, and an amazing person who was always smiling, laughing, and telling jokes. Fredy had the loudest laugh, biggest smile, and a high-spirited energy that was so contagious it sparked a light in everyone's heart. He came to this Country with nothing in his pocket but through his resilience was able to successfully accomplish himself and achieve his goals and dreams in his lifetime. His main concern was always the wellbeing and happiness of his entire family, and he was indispensable in caring for their health, safety, and comfort. From the very day his business opened until his last day when he passed away on March 22, 2023, Fredy was a true asset serving his community in Houston, Texas.

Fredy is survived by his wife Deborah Fay Hill, daughter Lisa Augustina Piedrasanta, brother Gilberto Piedrasanta, niece Andrea Piedrasanta, nephew Julio Piedrasanta, and mother Magdalena Popal Aguilar.
