Elva Canales Orea passed away December 9, 2023 at the age of 63. She was born June 19, 960 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Margarita Garza Canales and Librado Vela Canales from Orange Grove, Texas.

Evla worked as a medical assistant for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a woman that always had a smile on her face.

Elva is survived by her spouse, Alfredo Diaz Reyes; her children, Reynaldo Fonseca Jr. (Crystal) of West Columbia, Adrian Lee Mendoza (Stacy) of Houston, Texas, Margarita Canales Barrios of Houston, Texas and Rebecca Mendoza (Nathan) of Taft, Texas; 8 grandchildren; brother, Alejandro Ramirez Jr. (Susie) of Falfurrias, Texas and sister, Maria Elisa Canales of Fort Worth, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Librado Lee Canales, Victor Canales and sister, Isabela Lita Canales.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
