Elliot Stier
Wiesendanger,
Feb 28, 2024 — Dec 6, 2023
Elliot Stier Wiesendanger, 72, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023 in Houston,
surrounded by his family.
Born on February 28, 1951 in New Orleans, LA to Charles Henry Wiesendanger and
Marie Louise Ahten Wiesendanger, Elliot was a cherished son, loving father, and doting
grandfather. Known to his granddaughters as "Poppy", he was known for his dedication
to family, his kindness, and his adventurous spirit.
A graduate of LSU and avid fan, Elliot proudly sported the colors and cheered
passionately for his beloved Tigers.
An adventurer at heart, Elliot embraced life's challenges with an explorer's spirit.
Whether it was hiking through rugged terrains, camping under the stars, or seeking new
experiences, he found joy in every adventure he embarked upon.
He was actively involved in his sons' extra curricular activities. He dedicated his time
and energy so that his sons had the ability to thrive as baseball players and pushed both
to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He also loved guiding and mentoring other young
scouts as well as coaching Layne and Christian's baseball teams.
Elliot is the brother of the late Lawrence Wiesendanger. Elliot is survived by his brother
Charles and his wife JoAnne Wiesendanger, son Christian Wiesendanger and his fiance
Beverly Leal, Layne and his wife Mollie Wiesendanger, granddaughters Abigail and
Rebekah Wiesendanger, niece Kim Wiesendanger, nephew David Wiesendanger and his
wife Erin Wiesendanger, great nephews Dax and Remy Wiesendanger, and many close
friends. His zest for life, laughter, and the stories he shared will forever resonate in our
hearts.
Though he may have crossed the finish line of his earthly journey, we can be at peace
knowing he is at the banquet table with Jesus, reunited with loved ones who preceded
him in death.
