Elizabeth Annette
Bane
Aug 10, 1988 — Feb 6, 2023
Elizabeth Annette Bane, born August 10th, 1988, departed this life on Monday, February 6th, 2023, at the age of 34.
Elizabeth was an old soul, a muse who explored life according to her spirit's compass. She was a true creator, always experimenting with new mediums and techniques to bring her artistic expression to life. Beyond her mastery of painting and drawing, Elizabeth was also known to work wood, craft leather, smith iron, and even concoct new spirits. Elizabeth had the imagination to conceive the dazzling and the talents to use whatever was at hand.
She was wacky, strange and silly at heart, but was also serious and thoughtful. She had a unique perspective, a love for the weird artsy kids who grew up to be weird artsy adults; she loved them because she was them.
Her love was peculiar as it wasn't bound to only those souls who shared her personal style or interests. She threw herself into loving a stranger in a way rarely seen that few can hope to mimic. She became family to strangers through nothing but the sheer force of her compassion and desire to discover and meet people's needs.
Though pain was an unwelcome guest in much of her life, she endured and persisted. From her often swollen and painful hands flowed curiously smooth and intentional lines she shaped into beauty. From her wounded heart she would seek to pour out love to salve the troubles of others and be a beacon of light in their darkest moments.
Elizabeth's passing is a great loss, especially to her family and loved ones, but also to those she connected with only briefly as she shone light into her every encounter. She was a splendid example of what it means to live life untethered, and her memory will continue to inspire others long after her passing.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eugene Wenger and her brother, Keith Lynn Serage.
Those mourning her passing include her husband, Khalil Tabaja; her mother, Loralee Wenger; grandmother, Anna Wenger; aunt and uncle, Melinda and Morris Petersen and family; aunt and uncle, Brian and Barb Wenger and family; great aunt, Clara Burchett; great uncle, Orran and aunt, Joni Bane, as well as her many cousins. Mourning her in equal measure are her two loving and lively dogs, Rosa and Emma, whom she adored.
