Obituary

On Monday August 28, 2023, Dorothy Faye Robinson Batt, walked through the pearly gates of heaven and into the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Born on March 10, 1936, in Blakely, Georgia, Miss Faye, as most knew her, grew to be a lady who exemplified humble service to others in many different ways. She provided loving support to children with disabilities through Special Blessings Ministries at The Woodlands Church. She volunteered each election as a pollster, as a way to be involved in our great nation's welfare in a positive way. Any child or teen who needed a safe place to be knew they would be welcome at Miss Faye's house. Despite all this, Faye found a way to be involved in every organization her daughters participated in as a booster, chaperone, and avid fan. She continued the trend whenever possible with her grandchildren.

For decades, Miss Faye was a volunteer Court Appointed Child Advocate with CASA, helping over 70 children through the darkest days of their lives, fighting for their best outcomes. The lawyers and judges had a healthy respect for, and actually listened to, what Miss Faye had to say.

The ultimate southern lady, Miss Faye needed only a raised eyebrow to bring people in line. For example, when working in medical records at Memorial Hospital, The Woodlands, doctors learned quickly to sign whatever papers she requested with a respectful, "Yes, Ma'am."

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Tiberius Robinson and Dorothy Earline Thompson Robinson, and her sisters Sarah "Earline" Robinson Goodrich King and Patricia "Patty" Ann Robinson West.

Faye is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, William "Murray" Batt, Jr., of San Marcos, TX; their daughters, Dr. Angela "Faye" Murphy and son-in-love Edward "Ned" John Murphy of Wimberley, TX, Stephanie Marie McMahon and son-in-love, Rev. Joel D. McMahon, IV of Livingston, TX, and grandchildren Colin Kerry Murphy, Meredith Faye Murphy, and husband, Austin Everett McCroy, Stephen Joel McMahon, and Christina Noel McMahon. She also is survived by her brother-in-love, David Batt and nieces and nephews, Mike and Jeff Batt, Sandra Bunge, Robbie Boyce, Terry Goodrich, Glen West, Lisa West Harris, Kay West Brawner, and a very large family with too many cousins to list.

A Celebration Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at The Woodlands Methodist Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Intermen3t service will follow, U=In remembrance of Faye's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Texas CASA or TWMC foundation. A light reception and interment service will follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street Houston, Texas 77081.
