Carmella Ann Johnson was born to Isabelle Louise  Ivich and Reginald Denny McClain, Jr. on December 30, 1966 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The first born grandchild brought hope and joy to both families.

She had the kind of spirit that was curious about everything, so she got into everything. She even got into a can of green paint and poured it all over her body so she could be green too.

Carmella spent her early childhood in Greensburg. While in middle school, her family moved to Houston, Texas where she loved swimming and dancing. During the teen years, her impeccable sense of style was on full display as she made sure she was perfectly dressed with adorned hair and nails daily. As long as she had a job, that would always be true.  Her constant companion was her dog, Candy, whom she loved dearly. A glimpse into her Facebook shows how much she loved selfies and beautiful backdrops.

Carmella was preceded in death by her father, Reginald McClain, Jr.

She  is survived by her husband of thirty years, James Wayne Johnson; her loving mother, Isabelle Ivich; her sister, Pamela Gamble; brother-in-law, Marc; niece, Jaisa and nephew, Niko Gamble as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, a service will begin at 12:00 noon at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas. A burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, Texas 77581.
