Alfredo Gonzales Villegas died peacefully on the morning of September 1, 2023. He passed during a prolonged hospital stay with family at his side. He was believed to have been born in   Apatzingán, Michoacan, Mexico, on July 20, 1934, to Librada Gonzales and Encarnacion Villegas and was one of three sons.

At a young age, Alfredo learned to work hard and take on   whatever jobs were available to support himself. He supported his family using his entrepreneurial spirit. He was a jack of all trades, and took on work being a seasonal farm laborer, a mechanic and a handyman.

He also enjoyed watching Lucha Libre, old black and white films, working on antique cars and caring for animals.

He is survived by his children, Eliazar Villegas, Victoria Homman, Jesus Villegas, Librada Marin, Juan R. Villegas, Dora E. Villegas, many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Guadalupe Guerra Villegas and son, Alfredo Villegas Jr.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. at Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081. His burial will be held at Heavenly Grace Cemetery in La Feria, Texas on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
